Skrice Studios, the creator of Heroes of Mavia – a mobile strategy game based on blockchain that was launched early in 2024 – has teased upcoming upgrades and expanded plans.
According to CoinGecko data, the MAVIA Ethereum token has risen by 430% in just one week. It is currently trading at $0.61. It's the largest gainer by far in CoinGecko's Gaming (GameFi) category during that span.
Granted, the token's price had plunged substantially over the last year since it launched in February 2024. MAVIA’s price peaked just two weeks after launch at $10.59, and then fell significantly in the months that followed, reaching a low of just one penny last week.
MAVIA has fallen 94% in value since its peak.
What's driving the surge isn't obvious, as Skrice hasn't made substantial moves around the Clash of Clans-like mobile game since the price started to take off on Sunday. They did, however, make several announcements towards the end of last month.
In a thread on X (formerly Twitter), the official game account noted plans to create a "GameLink" hub to bring together crypto games across various platforms and blockchain ecosystems, along with various game enhancements and plans to launch "six flagship games"—including an "optimized and balanced" version of Heroes of Mavia.
The changes included "reorganizing the core team," including moves to "streamline operations" and "improve collaboration."
MAVIA’s trading volume has risen since Saturday when the price climbed. It went from less than $2,000 to $100,000,000 in a 24-hour period. With a total market cap of 32.1 million dollars, the token is currently ranked 863rd in terms of cryptocurrency value.
